Tagger in Long Beach Falls From Bridge

Maybe this isn't funny, but ... ha ha!

A tagger in Long Beach fell from a railroad bridge and injured his leg. He and an alleged accomplice were taken into custody.

It happened Friday morning on Cherry Avenue, south of Market Street. A motorist called the Long Beach Police Department at 12:52 a.m., reporting that there was someone lying on the roadway. According to LBPD spokesperson Lisa Massacani, the suspect was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, while his accomplice was arrested. Both are 19-year-old males.

Wonder if the brave street artist got to finish his masterpiece. BUSTER WAS HER ... whoa, whoa, ahhh!

So remember, kids, when tagging, bring a crash pad. Wait, that's the moral of the story, right?

@GA SOON TO BE UNEMPLOYED BEANER: Your ignorance shines through every word you choose to speak. The actual origin of "graffiti" or just writing on walls has been around for thousands of years (insert Roman catacombs or "cave-man" like drawings). It wasn't until the early 20th century that this form of graffiti began to be considered "vandalism". It began to grow during the different World Wars - this would be WW1 or WW2 - when soldiers would keep markings of where they were stationed. Throughout time, its popularity began to grow and was eventually adopted by hip-hop cultures in the early 80s. This led to a spread of gang related graffiti and now the problem we have today. So I say - blame the Romans. They seemed to start this trend.
Think of it as EVOLUTION in action. Let these creeps deface their OWN neighborhoods... Oh, but then their irate NEIGHBORS would most likely give them a rather stern lesson on respect for OTHER people's property. They want to paint on something to bolster their self-esteem? Let them EARN the money to BUY canvases.
Murtough... I completely agree with you. As for Efren Luna-- your comment is very ignorant and it's sad that you boast about your ill hobby... how about putting your time to better use? Go to school perhaps? Get a real job where 15% of your earnings go to cleaning up the filth that you're so proud of?
We all take risks. This guy got burned. Good. We should grease every railroad bridge in the state so this happens regularly. Peter, you are what is wrong with the state. Lets develop a committee to fix and heal those who are calling out for "help" with their social distortions. You write the check, form the committee, call the meetings, develop an action plan , spend taxpayer dollars while I'm up there greasing the railroad bridges. Have a good day!

Peter Murtough is a Moron similar to the other moron who fell and broke his leg. It is the parents job in the beginning to guide their kids to get an education and be a productive citizen. Obviously that didn't happened. Too bad he wasn't run over. Now us citizens will have to pay for the removal and other stupid taxes.

Your article is very narrow-minded, insensitive, and misses the point in seeing the bigger picture here. Whilst there is a moral to every story where the behaviour of miscreants corrupt commonly held values, it is nevertheless not your right, Michelle Woo, to pass mean-spirited commentary; i.e., your obvious sarcasm: "...brave street artist." You know not the circumstances that put the tagger in that time and place, nor do you know the why in terms of the risk he put himself in, not to mention the potential for risk to his cohort and passing motorists. This becomes more about a social malaise with roots far deeper than; "BUSTER WAS HERE." Instead, the greater question is, how can examples like this individual be turned around to ultimately enhance rather than detract public funded property? There are intervention programmes for addictions of all sorts; could it not be said that tagging deserves a form of intervention too? Social behaviourists would agree that tagging is on a par with the territorial imperative of many creatures to mark their territory. As an imperative then, would not such behaviour be better served by early intervention before spray-paint cans turn into firearms and change the dynamic from vandalism to turf-war deaths as we clearly see today?!
