George W. Bush and Pastor Rick Warren, Together Again

george-w-bush_150.jpg
George W. Bush is pushing his new book, My Pet Goat . . . er . . . Decision Points. Pastor Rick Warren is pushing Saddleback Church's 6th Civil Forum. In a mysterious cloud of kismet, scrath-one-another's-backsism and divine misunderestimation, the two old pals come together later this month at the Lake Forest mega-mall church.

And the public is invited. Pinch me!

The pair are scheduled to discuss Bush's leadership and excerpts from his memoirs Nov. 29 at the church, 1 Saddleback Parkway, Lake Forest. The time has not yet been determined.

Pastor Rick Warren drives for a purpose with President George W. Bush during the Saddleback Civil Forum on Global Health in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 1, 2008: World AIDS Day.
The forum is designed to allow members of the Saddleback community observe their purpose-driven pastor talk turkey with world leaders (or, in this case, a former one).

Warren on Dec. 1, 2008--the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day--presented Bush the first International Medal of Peace, when the pastor moved his Civil Forum from Saddleback to Washington, D.C.

Warren, of course, cast his shadow over the next presidency at his next forum, now back at Saddleback, where he hosted then-candidates and Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama. The pastor went on, amid great controversy, to introduce the invocation at Obama's inauguration, again in D.C.
