And there is no process for verifying their claims; anyone can claim they came here before age 16 and say they've enrolled in any kind of college and get amnesty. And then they can petition to bring their relatives in under family reunification--millions more. <i>hahahaha...kari....your funny...set Maria straight....Im shocked its coming from someone named M-A-R-I-A..most common illegal name out there..</i> I'm not a member of La Raza, so I put my country's best interests ahead of those of foreign lawbreakers. Too bad you obviously seem to be among those who believe that a Mexican peasant you've never met, who lives 1000 miles away from you, is a member of "your people," but the black or white American who lives down the street from you is not. I prefer to remain loyal to my fellow Americans, not my "raza". Obama just released his plans for making huge cuts in Social Security and MEdicare payments for American citizens who have paid into those programs all their lives. This is no time to be giving handouts to foreign lawbreakers who didn't pay a dime into our social services. American seniors living on the streets while the children of illegals lounge around in Harvard dormitories, courtesy of American tax dollars? It ain't happening.

I would have been far more impressed if the Illegal Dream Team had included a financial (or military) burden to the Dream Act. Everything is gimme gimme gimme. • If foreign nationals are eager to join the military, they don't need a free pass to college. They can use the GI bill when leaving the forces with an honorable discharge. Anyone who is willing to fight for this country deserves to live here. Take college off the table, make the prerequisite of military service and congratulate them for serving their new nation by giving them citizenship and then sending them to college under the GI bill. I will applaud and thank anyone who is willing to risk his or her life to protect my liberty. So why are the officers in attendance at the military recruiting centers, not aware that non-citizens can still join any arm of the services? Or could it be most students have no intentions of becoming part of the army, marines, navy or air forces, using this issue to avoid any deportation? Another provision that misleads the public is the fact that an illegal alien can join the military in this time of martial conflict and collect as a guarantee a path to citizenship. Under current law (10 USC � 504), the Secretary of Defense can authorize the enlistment of illegal nationals. Once enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces, under 8 USC � 1440, these illegal aliens can become naturalized citizens through expedited processing, often obtaining U.S. citizenship in six months? It is an example of living into God's biblical dream of justice and abundance and peace for ALL, while also drawing on the rich history of immigration that has made this nation so great. If these students are given the right to attend colleges and universities, they will be educated people who will be be able to compete head to head with anyone. If one reads the DREAM Act descriptions, in deed they will qualify for U.S. citizinship, but only after many years of the conditional residency. Yes, they will be able to qualify for state fund social services, but by then they have earned the right to do so by paying taxes. Illigal or not, everyone who works pays taxes; thus, earning the right to claim some of the benefits of working under the shadows. • The criteria for becoming a citizen in the Dream Act is far to easy. Make it cost something meaningful.

• If the DREAM Act amnesty passes, here will be some of the consequences: An estimated 2.1 million illegal aliens will be given work permits. They will be able to compete head-to-head with the 22 million Americans who cannot find a job; These people will qualify for U.S. citizenship. Once naturalized, they will be able to sponsor their relatives to immigrate here�even their illegal alien relatives already here!
