First Ladies Michelle Obama and Laura Bush Coming to Maria Shriver's Women's Conference

The current and former first lady are doing California's first lady a solid, as Michelle Obama and Laura Bush have agreed to speak during Maria Shriver's annual Women's Conference in Long Beach Oct. 24-26.
Obama last appeared at what Shriver has dubbed "the Super Bowl for Women" in 2007, when she joined a panel of wives of presidential candidates.
The nation's first lady is scheduled to speak at the opening session of the Oct. 26 main event. It's unclear when Mrs. Bush appears.
"Mrs. Obama and I not only share a commitment to service, women, military families, community health and many other issues, but also share the role of wife and mother, of which she is a stunning example," Shriver said in a statement released Monday.
"I'm so proud that The Women's Conference has become a destination where extraordinary newsmakers like Mrs. Obama come together for authentic, honest and civilized conversations that you cannot find anywhere else. I look forward to hearing her speak and share how her life has changed since she first took to our stage in 2007."
Held at various Long Beach locations, the conference is expected to draw more than 30,000 people. Other speakers include Diane Sawyer, Oprah Winfrey, Sandra Day O'Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Robert Redford, Erin Brockovich, Rosario Dawson, Sarah McLachlan, Suze Orman, Katherine Schwarzenegger, Jessica Simpson and Brian Williams.
