|Choi: I'm baaaaack!|
Dan Choi just won't give up.
The 29-year-old, irrepressible Orange County resident is refusing to allow his homosexuality to block him from military service even though the Iraq War veteran was booted out of the Army National Guard in July under the Pentagon's ridiculous "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
New York media outlets are reporting that Choi went to a Times Square military recruiting station this afternoon and re-enlisted after a federal judge issued an injunction immediately ending the controversial policy.
ABC News quoted Choi saying, "Today is a great day we can all celebrate. I'm very excited to be in service to this country."
The West Point graduate first attempted to join the marines but was rejected because of his age. Choi then made his way to an Army recruiting station and re-enlisted.
"Rank doesn't matter," he told a New York newspaper. "It's about serving and contributing to the greater good. Service is about sacrifices."
