Carly Fiorina Goes From a Hospital Bed to a Retirement Village

​Fresh from a hospital bed, where she was being treated for an infection tied to her reconstructive breast surgery after cancer, Carly Fiorina brings her U.S. Senate campaign to Laguna Woods this afternoon.

The Republican nominee for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer is scheduled to appear in Laguna Woods Village's Clubhouse 3 Auditorium, 23822 Avenida Sevilla, at 3:45 p.m.

If nothing else, the visit should make the recent invalid feel young again, since the city of Laguna Woods is essentially a big retirement community with a strip shopping center.

Speaking of old news, Fiorina's campaign is telling reporters to ignore national polls that show she will get trounced by Boxer on Tuesday and to instead believe a Republican pollster's numbers that claim the race is a statistical dead heat.

Speaking of new news, Fiorina's campaign earlier today confirmed she will be among the GOP candidates awaiting election results Tuesday night at the Irvine Hyatt.
