California and immigrants have had a long, tortured history, with the Golden State being one of the few states who discriminated against EVERYONE: blacks, Mexicans, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italians--essentially everyone who wasn't of Anglo-Saxon stock, unless you were an Okie and Arkie.
I was reminded of this when visiting the Orange County Fair recently, and laughing at the ridiculous piece of propaganda featured on their official 1976 program. Picture after the jump!

Compare this propaganda to California's reality--not just of today, but when INVADERS were coming in LEGALLY. What say you, Know Nothings?
