Art Pedroza: Santa Ana Looking To Dump Controversial Council Member

• Ben, you don't do that if your did this because you were treated wrongly then you should tell the other council members and demand respect shallow people really don't know their constitutional right, you vab actually file a law suit individually aganst the three city council members for prejudice and violating your constitutional rights. alfaro, claudia is a crook? 

• Dweezle, Deborah is lying. We have turned in a public records request and will be obtaining copies of the certificates. Staff have already indicated that each member of the Committee got a certificate including Lupe Moreno and Anita Hynds, who most certainly are Minutemen. Also, our Council is elected at large. Our elections are not ward-specific. So no, Ward 4 did not elect Benavides all by themselves. The Council has until Friday to find someone to run against him. They may not but at this point I cannot see Pulido and company backing this guy. He has wrecked himself.

• I should be stunned.... but it makes sense that "Lap Band Dan" over at the Liberal OC is again defending Matt "JUBAL" Cunningham the pedo-priest protector. These two are cut from the same cloth. SELL OUT to your vendors (in Jubals case the RCBO). Dan wants to defend Matt but is suing Pedroza??????? SELL OUT! Plain and simple

• Nice to see that Deborah reported the facts as accurately as what I saw in the video in the prior OC Weekly article. As far as the removal of Benavides from office... I believe he was duly elected by the voters of Santa Ana Ward 4, and it is those voters that must remove him NOT the other board members. As I recall the purpose of having several elected board members is to assure all the city residents are represented, when all member opinions are just carbon copies all the people cannot be represented.

• Is he influential enough to talk his checkbook into paying his bills? His foreclosure would say otherwise.

• I thought that good reporters were supposed to check their facts, Mr. Moxley. You reported the following: "Benavides' apparent sin? At a previous city council meeting, he gave a city award to a group that included racist, anti-immigrant members who felt comfortable enough about their bigotry to call young Latinos in Santa Ana "f**king wetbacks" at a public July 4th celebration at the city's library." The award was given to the committee members that planned the Santa Ana Independence Day event. The comments you are referring to came from a volunteer's husband that was provoked by an idiot activist. Please check this out for yourself and let us know what you find out.

• FINALLY! Someone on Council who has the huevos to give Crazy Claudia some pushback. God knows the henpecked castrati known as Tinajero, Bustamante and Sarmiento will never be capable of that.
