The Lure of the Sheriff's Badge

• Dweezle...you should not wonder if the contributors will be looking for badges or CCW's. That was the way Carona rolled, not Hutchens. If you recall she repossesed a bunch of purchased badges and some CCW's soon after taking the job and got crucified in the press for doing so. We wanted an honest Sheriff who would not sell badges or CCW's and it appears we now have one, even though our friends on the right tried to get one of her opponents elected because of her stance. I don't think it is fair to slander her for being too tough on CCW's while simultaneously accusing her of selling them. Trust me, if the right wing gun nuts could get a CCW by merely purchasing one illegally with a campaign contribution they would have done so in a heartbeat and we never would have heard their complaining. Instead you would be seeing Hutchen's for Sheriff stickers next to the NRA stickers on all the pickup trucks in the trailer park. I think if you check you find the cover ups and improper death investigations occurred on Mikey's watch, not Sandy's. She has fired more people in a year for misconduct than Carona did in ten years. If I read the story correctly, at least 21 people (it does not specify how many government contractors) contributed 7K, or about $300 each. This is an interesting story becasue it is always nice to know who is contributing to who around here, but I am not seeing anything suspicious here. That's my two cents....

• I wonder if the "Contributors" will be looking for Deputy Sheriff Posse Badges or concealed weapon permits. I think the prudent Contributors will wait to see if any meaningful improvements occur in perhaps the first 725 days of her leadership, or will we continue to see more cover-ups, and more inmate deaths investigated by the agency responsible?

• You spelled descent wrong, which is not the most indicative part of your idiocy. Why is it "interesting" that 14 people of Middle Eastern descent made contributions to Hutchens? Or was this also a typo, did you mean people who still live in the Middle East, or did you just actually mean to say there is something newsworthy about the fact that Americans of a certain ethnic heritage donated to a political campaign? I thought on slow news days you just write puff pieces about McNerney?

• How can $7000 "immediately pour" into her campaign coffers if it was over a period of a few days? Some names would have been nice too!
