The Disneyland Resort is supposed to be the "Happiest Place on Earth," right? Too bad the name doesn't really take into consideration the thousands of motorists trapped in the hellish traffic jams along Harbor Boulevard or the 5 Freeway that surround the park--nobody sings "Zip-a-Dee-Do-Dah" on these streets.
And worse yet: The traffic around Disneyland tomorrow will reach a whole new level of miserable thanks to the parade ushering in the 2010 MLB All-Star Game to the city of Anaheim.
The parade route starts at the corner of S. Harbor and Convention Way, directly in front of the Anaheim Convention Center, and travels north across Katella Ave. towards its end point at Disney Way. The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The best advice would be to avoid all of the Disneyland area, especially the 5 Freeway near the Orangewood Ave., Harbor, Katella and even Ball Rd. exits.
But if you have to drive in the area, here is the parade route and the actual road closures according to the Anaheim Police Department dispatcher's office. All of the closures will last from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.:
- Harbor Blvd. will be closed from Disney Way to Orangewood Ave.
- Convention Way from West St. to Harbor Blvd.
- Katella Ave. from West St. to Clementine St.
