• Boojum, I was not �fired.� I tried to resign after my contract ended for almost a year before I gave up doing the process. I was asked to come in time and time again after my contract ended. I was threatened with being declared suppressive if I didn�t. Even when I confessed to stealing money (and a confession, which may have been the one I wrote, was posted to alt.religion.scientology in 1995), I was offered leniency if I signed another five-year staff contract. I declined, and when I was threatened, I hired a criminal defense attorney who wrote a letter to the org about representing me. That�s all that ever happened at that point. To my knowledge, I was not declared suppressive at the time I left; I�ve had three other staffers confirm that they never saw a declare on me, nor is there one at OC Org (which is why I was in Tustin and Santa Ana in the first place � morbid curiosity on my actual status within Scientology). So if my crimes really were that heinous, why wasn�t I declared suppressive then? Why wasn�t I prosecuted? Oh, wait, because they weren�t really that heinous by Scientology standards. My address is easy to find: if I am declared suppressive, please snail mail me the goldenrod. As far as illegal acts go: true. When it came to money, I, like many Scientologists, was effectively a crack addict. I went into agreement with the illegal acts being performed every day at the org. After I left, I found it much more easy to be an ethical person without the pressure to, oh, pay people illegally below minimum wage, be party to mortgage and credit card fraud (and have my reports of same ignored), to ignore the bankruptcy laws and try to get the banks to be on the hook for people�s �donations� when the parishioner�s finances collapsed. That said, who cares if I�m an ex-employee, disgruntled or otherwise? It�s still an actual photograph of something that was actually there on July 1. As I�ve said elsewhere, it wasn�t mail � it was on the outside of the building tucked into the plywood. I wouldn�t tamper with mail. And no, it wasn�t stolen; it was put back exactly where we found it. You can see in the photo that it was dirty on the outside of the top two folds. It clearly wasn�t in an envelope (obnosis flunk). Diamonddille, obnosis flunk. I didn't have the bill, I had the disconnect notice. One would hope the org had been receiving their bills. Clearly they weren't paying them. Bob, I don't know if they can or not, but it's pretty clear they were at least very late in doing so. It's particularly notable that we visited on July 1, and a notice that was three weeks old had apparently gone unnoticed by Scientology until then. OT and Proud, freedom isn't just about eternity. It's also about today and tomorrow. How free are you today? How much debt do you have? How much stress do you have over that debt? How free are you to go anywhere, do anything, speak to anyone? If you wanted to visit another continent tomorrow for a month, what would happen?

• It seems a responsible journalist aught to qualify his sources at least a bit. The provider of this stolen water bill is a former Church of Scientology employee who was fired for committing illegal acts against the church. So the motivation for presenting this �shocking� piece of information should be apparent . Maybe a better story would be �What were her illegal acts that got her terminated and what did she do with the money?� And by the way, isn�t tampering with or stealing another�s mail a federal crime?
