Next Tuesday the Orange County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to consider Sheriff Sandra Hutchen's request to approve a contract allowing bail bonds companies and criminal defense lawyers to advertise their services inside the county jail.

Hutchens' biggest selling point?

Taxpayers could reap up to $250,000 in annual fees in the first year and up to $290,000 in subsequent years, according to a revenue analysis by the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The non-profit Partners for a Safer America will administer the contract if its approved by the supervisors.
