Michael Bussee Promises Fresh Dirt on the Ex-Gays at Saturday Counter-Conference

I also attend Mass regularly and spend time every day in prayer.</i> Who supports, endorses, praises, and regularly attends conferences with beliefs like those Evan Hurst and the organization "Truth Wins Out" and "Ex-Gay Watch" espouse that state that religious beliefs are "retarded" and worse. Perhaps the Presbyterians should explain why they support the beliefs of Evan Hurst and the gay left that Michael Bussee represents.

• Uganda. Hmmm. Didn't Pastor Martin Ssemba's brother and sister die of AIDS? And didn't he watch gay scat porno at lenth? Creapy if you ask me. He eat da poo poo. • To "Ex-gay" -- You want the truth? Here's some: Exodus was warned by friends and foes alike to STAY AWAY from Uganda. They went anyway! Alan Chambers now admits that he ignored the warnings mainly because of "who" was warning him -- gay activists. Exodus did not openly object to the Ugandan law (officially)until they started catching major Hell for(in Alan Chambers' own words) "going anywhere near such a horrible conference." That took many weeks. It then took tremendous pressure -- and 15 MONTHS -- before Mr. Chambers expressed anything like an official apology in June of this year - almost 1 1/2 years after the Ugdandan bill was introduced. He admitted on the Exodus blog that the statement was "way overdue" and that it made them look like they were "all butt". That's an understatement. Exodus had previously favored criminalization. When the last sodomy law in the USA was struck down by the Supreme Court, Mr. Chambers lamented the decision -- and Randy Thomas argued that states should have the right to "legislate morality". Add to all this truth the FACT that "ex-gays are still homosexual in orientation -- Alan Chambers stated as much at the recent Irive conference. He says he has to "deny daily that which comes naturally for him". They may "love the sinner" but going to Uganda, stalling for 15 months to apologize and continuing to mislead people about "change" is a strange way to show it. And that's the truth.

• You try with your words to make exodus look like they are all about hate in your quote that Exodus "played a role in the drafting of a draconian, controversial anti-gay law in Uganda." Why not report the truth that Exodus OPPOSED the draconian laws the government of Uganda was proposing? Because it doesn't fit your agenda to try and show Exodus is about hate. I am so tired of the liberal gay agenda. Exodus helps thousands of people who have been impacted by the issue of homosexuality. Does Exodus say homosexuality is OK? Absolutely not, but at least be intellectually honest with your readers and don't make them look like they are on one side of the Uganda issue when they are totally NOT. They want Uganda to have a compassionate response, not outlaw the behavior. Show some integrity, Spencer. Shame on you.

Ask anyone who knows me -- I am hardly an "anti-religious" bigot. I am, however a very proud gay activist. Towards the goal of full legal equality and inclusion of LGBTQI people, I work alongside people of all religious persuasions -- even those may I disagree with theologically.
