She could chill for 26 years to life in state prison if she is convicted. Castillo's bail was set at $3 million today, reports the Orange County Register.
Meanwhile, Foster's family reportedly says it cannot afford the $8,000 required to ship his body home to Fort Collins, Colorado, for burial.
"We can't afford to go to California," Joey Foster, brother of the deceased, tells The Coloradoan. "We just don't know what to do next."
Victim advocates here told the Fosters the state will not pick up the tab because Jesse was a convicted felon who served five years of a 10-year sentence for drugs and car theft.
He had been out of prison for about two months, living on Social Security disability payments for a mental
disability, before Castillo
convinced him to move with her to California, according to Joey Foster.

SANTA ANA - A woman has been charged with stabbing and murdering her live-in boyfriend after an argument in their Anaheim apartment. Corina Jo Castillo, 35, Anaheim, is charged with one felony count of murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison. The People will be requesting $3 million bail at Castillo's arraignment Monday, June 21, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana.
Shortly after midnight on June 17, 2010, Castillo is accused of getting into an argument with her live-in boyfriend, 28-year-old Jesse Foster. The victim was transported to the hospital and died shortly thereafter. Castillo was found at a friend's house in Tustin later that day and was arrested by Anaheim police.
