Documentary Filmmakers Share Secrets

Fund-raising, production experiences and storytelling tricks are among the topics the filmmakers are scheduled to cover at this joint presentation of the Media Alliance of Orange County and the Orange County Screen Writers Association. The event is open to the public, but a cover charge applies. (Details below.)
The docmentarians are:
* David Bojorquez, executive producer and principal of Vision4Media, which creates socially conscious original content for film and television. His documentaries include The Big One, The Moss Method and Journey of Loss, Discovery of Hope.
* Peter Buffa, a former Costa Mesa mayor and councilman, a current Orange County Transportation Authority board member and the CEO of Petrone Communications. Besides corporate communications and intergovernmental consulting, Buffa writes, produces and directs documentaries that concentrate on history and science. His most recent film is Titans of History, which chronicles the construction and history of the Tustin Blimp Hangars.
* Jay Grewall, a multimedia producer working in interactive design, web development, graphic design and motion graphics/ainmation. His film If Mother Only Knew sheds light on the state of mind of mixed-martial arts (MMA) participants.
* Richard Theiss, an independent producer, writer, director and cinematographer who also runs RTSea Productions. A veteran filmmaker with more than a dozen years in TV, commercial and motion picture production, his longform documentary, Island of the Great White Shark, is available in several retail outlets and on Amazon.
Co-sponsoring the program are Corporate Video and Film and the Bowers, whose facility at 2002 N. Main St., Santa Ana, hosts the program, which begins at 6 tonight with socializing and networking, followed by the presentation at 6:45.
