Has the Era of the Nationally Influential OC Conservative Eclipsed?

Baby Hewie: Despite my constant ridiculing of him, brother is hella influential among conservatives...

I know lists are notoriously arbitrary and are usually created with the sole purpose of causing controversy, but there must be some local meaning in a recent article by the UK's conservative Daily Telegraph ranking America's 100 most-influential conservatives. Nowhere on the list is there a person from Orange County--no Hugh Hewitt or Howard F. Ahmanson, Jr. (who I'd argue both deserve a spot for their respective contributions to spreading the blog gospel among conservatives and spreading oodles of cash to creationism and Episcopal schisms), no Dana Rohrabacher or Jon Fleischman (who only think they're influential). The OC GOP always touts its supposed influence in national politics--well, where is it? Honestly?
