How Did the OC Judge Get Potential Jurors To Laugh?

• I'd like to think I'm smart enough to NOT get out of it. I prefer to be part of the solution, not the problem. I suggest that similarly smart folk learn about <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jury_nullification">jury nullification</a>, serve with the dignity that so many struggled to attain in our country's not-so-distant past, and change the system for the better.

• "those that wish to be on a jury are the very same that shouldn't be. They are not smart enough to get out of it." Wait a minute. The people who want to be on a jury are also people who are not smart enough to get out of it? Mike, let's have a little logic here! Furthermore, you say the legal system is "broken" but you offer no argument in support of that statement. Sounds to me like YOU'RE the one who is not smart enough.

• Yah, that stuff and the ability to fog a frickin mirror. Lets face it, civic duty or not, those that wish to be on a jury are the very same that shouldn't be. They are not smart enough to get out of it. The legal system is broken! I refuse to participate in it until tangible efforts are made to at least make inroads to fixing it. Mike
