Get outta the way, bitch!

It's gettin' cold out there! Thankfully fun doesn't hibernate until spring in Orange County. But just in case you spent the weekend hiding beneath your blankets, let us fill you in on what you missed.

Chris Victorio's weekend literally skated by as he shot some spectacular photos of the OC Roller Girls playing their last home game in Huntington Beach. Think again if you thought roller derby competitions were solely a phenomenon of the Midwest or films like Whip It. Check out the all the hot wheels, women, and wipe outs by clicking here!

Keep reading to see more highlights from when we: visited amateur street skaters catch some major air at the eS Skate Games World Championship; let our creative juices flow at the Santa Ana Patchwork Festival; and hung out with some seriously snugly critters at the Pomona Pet Expo.

Defying gravity.

Last Saturday, Sole Technology Headquarters hosted amateur street skaters from all over the world for the eS Skate Games World Championship. Hailing from as far away as China and London, skaters came to compete for cash prizes in a giant game of S-K-A-T-E. Simmilar to the basketball game H-O-R-S-E, competitors had to out-trick their opponents in order to advance. Catch the amazing photos here!

Aww.

Also on Nov. 14, all walks of life gathered to exhibit the cute, adorable, and . . . scaly. Everything from domestic dogs and furry felines to primates such as the one shown above could be found at the Pomona Pet Expo. Once a year, enthusiastic pet owners gather to meet, greet, and show off their animal companions. To see more photographs of picture-perfect pets by Keith May, click right here.

A DIY dream come true.

Leslie Agan set out on the 14th to capture the resulting event that occurs when artists band together in the name of creativity, comradeship and commerce. The Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival in Santa Ana was brimming with one of a kind, do-it-yourself treasures that embody the spirit of non-conformity endorsed by the festival's creators. From hand-pressed woodblock printed birthday cards to funny little cloth cacti you'll never have to water, examples of creators' individuality could be found by everyone who attended.
