• There are some misguided and outright ignorant comments about the above article, especially Cesar (you're just an idiot, do society a favor and keep it up with the drugs and alcohol). I'm Asian and I personally believe that everyone has the potential to be great and achieve great things but it is up to them to want to do so. Blaming or crediting race as the factor is completely bias and ridiculous. There is no such thing as a particular race being superior and vice versa. One last thing, it's natural to feel intimidated when outnumbered but that should not attribute to one's will to finish on top.

• Considering it's only an 8,500 mile swim for the Vietnamese to get to the US, I would have to assume, as a generalization, that only the middle class and up could afford to come here.

• A lot of these comments are totally ridiculous. My wife is an Asian immigrant and everyone in her family is/was a straight A student. But lets stop and look at why. Think geography for a second. My wife's father is a doctor and mother a nurse MA. They were educated and accomplished before they came to the US AND they could AFFORD to come to the US. Education and success was a FAMILY priority long before they arrived here from a poor third world country. Vietnam is hardly the pinnacle of financial or scholastic success. There are a large number of illiterate, uneducated and downtrodden in the Philippines, China, Korea, ...and especially Vietnam, etc. as there are amongst all the races of this world, on all the continents of this world. I know first hand from being to many of these countries as a Marine. The reason people of all races in the US stereotype ALL Hispanics is because we see a large number of the uneducated indigent walking across the border which does not accurately reflect their entire society. Just as whites in the south are viewed as trailer trash and blacks in projects are viewed poorly. If we had Bosnia, or Vietnam, or Somalia, or Russia south of our border, our country which "was" once a financially sound place to live would be over ran by their indigent and uneducated instead. And I'm sure the reverse would be true if Mexico were the financially strong world leader and we were the third world country.

• Since America is done and will be taken over, I prefer the Asians take it than the latinos. How many more bankrupt, corrupt latino banana republics do we need? Asians will make it clean. They will turn the latinos into soylent brown to feed to the slaves and use the blacks to fill the pot holes. No more grafitti. No more stolen copper wire. No more crawling under the border.

• This is a really racial and divisive article. I think the truth is that all races are pretty much equal in intelligence. There are however, big differences in cultures. Asians are driven to excel academically. It is highly valued in their communities. Many of our Latinos are illegal, come from peasant backgrounds and do not presently value academics as much as they do earning money at an early age. This usually implies something labor intensive. Caucasians who have been in the U.S. for several generations are just pretty lazy because their culture is one with a lot of personal freedom. They are just not driven hard by their parents. Here we are talking about the high school through college group. As these groups age, I believe that these cultural differences become less and less important and many other factors emerge that produce or prevent successful individual economic outcomes.

• Hmm� This idea of Asian superiority is all new to me. What Asians want to achieve whites are not always interested in. Nothing to do with competition. Never heard of anyone being �afraid� of Asians as competition of any sort. Sometimes there seem to be a more of a prominent lack of ethics from this community, which concern people, but never anything else. I guess it means Asians, in spite of assumed superiority, cannot drive a car since they are so infamous for being poor and reckless drivers. How does that all go together? Driving doesn�t exactly demand high intelligence�

• How come none of these brilliant Asian kids are in any of my classes at CSUF? Do all of the smart ones go to a UC?

• Man, when i first saw that photo, i thought the guy on the right was Richard Kiel. And for the record, its all about upbringing. Asian kids are just more diligent at schoolwork because their parents pressure them way too much. I should know, my roommate's Asian and her mom scares the hell out of me.

• The other kids literally cannot compete. The teachers in the area referred to talk openly amongst themselves about the Asians being better than the Mexicans.

• Can't compete? Is that why we see so many CEO's of fortune 500 companies are Asia? Or why the richest man on earth is actually an asian but he looks and speaks like a Mexican? The only asian I know thats a CEO of a big company is Kaz Hirai of SCE, and he is from Japan straight up. Or how about how the only way asians could win an election is to cheat and try to scare people into not voting?

• Asian students work hard, and as such are respect worthy.Caucasians need not fear them since Asians' ultimate goal is to be white. Black and Latino kids can't compete against Asians because they're having too much fun having sex and partying. To each his own.

• A misplaced prejudice?! Wtf. How is it that people will trust this absurdity? And with regard to the school board member, "they think" is not proof of anything, except your misplaced prejudice.
