Believe it or not, I have a couple of friends who work for the Orange County Register. Won't name names lest they fall under corporate microscope, but I bet one of them that the District Attorney's Office would never criminally try Denis Lyons, the longtime Diocese of Orange pedo-priest who has cost Bishop Tod D. Brown more than $4 million.

Best lunch I ever lost. Register reporter Rachanee Srisavasdi (not the person I will soon take out for good grub at a SanTana taco truck) reports in today's edition that DA Tony Rackauckas will try him for molestation. If sent to the pokey, Lyons might just become the third priest after Gerardo Tanilong and Andrew Christian Andersen to serve time for his rapes in Orange County pews. Hmm... three out of more than 30 verified OC pedo-priests and other rapist Orange diocese workers criminally convicted. Carry the one, divide the three, and that's a .100 batting average. You just might get to the Mendoza pedo-priest line, Tony Rack--congrats!

Looking at this man's photo makes me physically ill! It would be impossible for me to count the times that Lyons visited the St. Edward's Catholic School K - 8 classes, where my children and thousands of other children, were placed in the care of this monster. Then, to think of how many Catholic Masses my children, myself and others attended, with Lyons as the celebrant priest. Why would any decent human being, Catholic or not, intentionally place a sexual predator in the midst of a Catholic school and parish community? The Diocese of Orange stated Lyons was now living a life of prayer and penance since 2003. How many grandchildren visit their grandparents at retirement communities, similar to the place Lyons resides? It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that playing cards, living in a seaside retirement community, with free rein to sexually abuse visiting their grandchildren, is the furthest thing from a life of prayer and penance. If anyone has any information about children that may have been hurt by this man, please speak out -- don't play the ostrich. Please understand the urgency of protecting those who cannot protect themselves. It is obvious that Bishop Brown, Urell and their high-priced attorneys (who were all honored with Papal Awards in May 2009), will continue fraud and negligent supervision of precious children -- because they have been allowed to enable sex crimes and cover ups for decades -- all in the name of freedom of religion privilege.

Yes, Tina, The greater majority of victims sexually violated by clergy never come forward. The pervert priest who sexually violated me, profiles for over 200 victims,(all little girls); but only about 28 of the victims came forward. However, each of those little girls knew of other little girls this priest had raped because, in many cases, the victims at each of the many parishes where this priest had been stationed, were related to each other; sisters and cousins, etc.
Last year my next door neighbor told me her brother may have been abused by lyons when they were growing up in California. i did a search on Lyons and found him on BA list of perps. i gave the family the info from bishop accountability on lyons. they began to get interested in doing something about it but then had a family reuinion and i guess decided to not get involved. this is just one of many families i met on Maui who were abused by priests in california and several other states. i did my best to spread the word and get them to come forward but most don't want to..(even though their lives are a mess and they have suffered great pain) Am glad this new case is going forward. Have learned first hand that the majority of victims of priests are hiding.

A couple of years ago, I remember a news broadcast about a priest named Father Wempe getting arrested in Leisure World. I didn't know about this pervert priest named Lyons. How many of these guys are living there anyhow? A thought just popped into my mind.....The men Father Lyons was playing cards with when he was arrested? I wonder if those men knew Lyons was a pedophile, let alone a pedophile priest?

Dennis Lyon's is yet another molester priest that served under John Urell's watch as Diocesan molestation Czar. I think the big question in this case is when will Matt Cunningham out the identity of the victim? On a serious note I think it's worth pointing out that Fr. Lyons final assignment in the Diocese of Orange was working as an Associate Pastor for Fr. John Lennihan, yet another priest molester, at St Edwards in Dana Point. He was relieved in 2003. I will believe a conviction of serial pedo Lyons when I see the bar door slam, to let him rot in jail, until meeting his boss down under (I'm not referring to Australia). As for his pedo boss here on Orange, Tod Brown, well let's just say it brings a whole new meaning to 'Godlessness'. Look at the face of that man in the photo, OCW Readers. There you have the face of pure EVIL. OH, the features from sexually predatory priest to sexually predatory priest might change; but there, in those faces, you see the EVIL that tells them it is acceptable to sexually butcher children. Imagine a child crying and whimpering on the floor of a sacristy, or church, or school room, or rectory, or (as in my case) choir loft? Did the child beg for MERCY, "Please let me go, Father"; as I once begged, only to have the priest laugh as he grabbed me. And after the deviant act, as that child bleeds anally and/or vaginally as the pedophile priest zips up his pants, is he (the priest)still laughing; or, at least smiling, with no concern for the bloody little heap whimpering on the floor. Someone, somewhere owed a favor and called it in!(Gustavo). Because OC district attorneys have been way to easy going on Todd Browns gang for way to many years. My understanding is limited but this guy fell out side the cloak of coverage of the RCC for some reason. Maybe the 4 million he cost the RCC. I don't know. But it's about time scum ended up in jail.
