If you're not familiar with the flash mob phenomenon, it was recently popularized with a group called Improv Everywhere, a New York-based comedic performance group founded in 2001 by Charlie Todd. The aim of Improv Everywhere is fairly simple, but the effect is definitely anything but--the group uses hundreds of performers to carry out "missions" These missions include having 160 people show up on the New York City subway with no pants, staging a fake U2 concert on a city rooftop or staging an 80-person blue shirt- and khaki pants-wearing team in Best Buy. If it sounds silly it is... but it also looks really, really, cool. And it gets noticed.
Thursday's Disneyland silent protest will emulate a stunt Improv Everywhere pulled off at the bustling Grand Central Station in Manhattan.
