Best Written Putdown of OC GOP EVER

I can guarantee that it's far more entertaining watching Republicans lose elections from a distance than from within their crazy, immigrant-bashing, warmongering, torture-endorsing, government-expanding, civil-liberties-trouncing hothouse."

--Orange County Register editorial writer Steve Greenhut, in the conclusion to his column today that ripped apart the OC Republican Party over their supposed conservatism. Greenhut forgot to mention that our local GOP is also rife with pedophiles, pedophile apologists, pedophile protectors, and pedophile-protector apologists, but otherwise he's right on.

Isn't old Jim Righeimer a "carpetbagger". He conveniently moved to Costa Mesa from Fountain Valley at the beginning of his last campaign. Wasn't old Riggy the campaign manager for Dana Rohrabacher. The same Dana who boosted Mansoor to victory in 2006. This is the same Riggy who was appointed to the Costa Mesa Planning Commission after having lived in the city for only 7 months and filing his application AFTER the filing deadline. On the night of Riggy�s appointment Mansoor rejected a loyal foot-soldier not once, not twice, but three times so he could appoint Righeimer. It was pure partisan payback to Dana for his support. All that being said, Riggy is a sleazy guy and a guy who knows how to get things done with a con-artists style. His past should be made public.....www.righeimer.com
Gustavo forgot to mention those who purport to be Homo "phobic" in the OC GOP are really just afraid of being outed.
I am an OC Conservative and yo hit spot on what is WRONG with my Party! It all starts with Mike Schroeder, and those appointed to the Fair Board. Let's face it, he appointed our top law dogs, and look where we are now. Those on the OC Fair Board support(ed) those top law dogs, and look at the price we have paid.
It was a sick burn indeed! Kudos to Steven for putting it all in perspective in such juicy fashion. There is a special place in Hell for the OC GOP and their Red County amigos...
Gustavo, as an OC Republican I should be really ticked-off at your piece, Greenhut's piece and the comments posted so far. Then I realized that this is the OC Republican party that has given us the likes of Allan Mansoor as their "local elected official of the year" and anointed successor to Van Tran in the Assembly. This is the party that has the arrogance to plunk the carpetbagger, Jim Righeimer, down into Costa Mesa and hand him a Planning Commission seat after living in our city only a few months... the same Riggy who has been Dana Rohrabacher's campaign manager... the same guy who shares office space with Scott Baugh. I just sat back and said to myself, "Aw, what the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks, Greenhut's probably right." Drat!
Spot on. The Republicans started their descent <i>during</i> the Reagan years. What aberrations the "booboise" has about that era! Why is it every OC Republican who wants to appear hip, yearns to go back to that time? Can it be they're just too shallow to study history? Hey, it wasn't that great --that is, unless you were one of those who didn't mind religion being stitched into the fabric of the political party, taking refuge under Jan Crouch's thatched toupee of moralism, perhaps denying the existence of AIDS, of having James Watt Secretary of Interior be a moral arbiter who not only opened up lands for drilling and deforestation, but saved the public from The Beach Boys on the 4th of July? Sorry, but OC Republicans are overfed, unimaginative lot. In a way, OC deserves what it gets.

Important to add, CORRUPT attorneys that continue to violate legal, financial, government and corporate conflicts of interest for self-serving FINANCIAL and POLITICAL gain, without accountability in a court of law. Unfortunately, elected law enforcement leaders, those who take an oath to protect the U.S. Constitution and safety of the people, are members of the OC GOP.... so the vicious beat goes on.
