Greenhut Blasts Sheriff, Union Boss Over Alleged Deputy Lies Under Oath

• Steve, if you think the police pension is a gift of public funds and illegal, then you may want to attack the fact that the County of Orange is giving away millions of dollars every year to undocumented illegals every year in the form of medical care,education costs etc. Santa Ana may not need to hire, train and pay the 20 new officers they are about to hire with the feds money, they could close half the schools in the school district.Just food for thought. • Without doubt, the Orange County Register and specifically Steven Greenhut is anti-law enforcement. No one, especially other Officers/Deputies like members of their profession who turn bad and damage the credibility of everyone. The media, never accused of objectivity, likes to "broad brush stroke" all of law enforcement when a bad apple turns up. That is like saying, "all school teachers are bad," or "all priests are immoral," just because of the actions of a few. Such actions constitute "Profiling" and do not reflect a true and accurate picture of a group of people. The point I am trying to make is; the Orange County Sheriffs Department is an excellent organization where the vast majority of men and women would put their life on the line for you or me without a second thought. I also believe that the Sheriff will take a hard look at the specifics of the case in question and if there are indications of dishonesty in court or other breaches of ethics and integrity, the Deputies will be dealt with appropriately. I would also remind those who are quick to judge, Cops know from the first day on the job, they are being held to a higher standard of conduct and violations will not be tolerated. Wonder if the Orange County Register can say the same about their employees?

• Not afraid? Funny, I see Greenhut's picture all the time but I've never seen Moxley show his cowardly face.

• Good for Greenhut. Good for the DA's office. Shame on Sheriff Hutchens and the deputies union.

• ...And numerous deputies have voiced near-hatred for the often worse Brea PD. Don't always agree with Greenhut, but we were once "almost neighbors" in that North OC municipality, and I like him as a person, believe his honesty and think he is right on his assessment of this issue.
