Why is Dina Nguyen Ashamed of Her Birthplace?

• MARCH 3, 2009 IS "ASHAMED" AN OPINION OR A FACT? If an opinion, then ok...but, if a fact, then where is the proof to this conclusionary statement Mr. Gustavo Arellano? The unanimous consensus is that one of the most important requirements to running for office in Garden Grove is that you have to be a United States citizen. Everyone has a beginning and an end. ALL FIVE of the Garden Grove council members stated their origins. Councilwoman Dina Nguyen chose Orange County as her origin and beginning, and this preference of identity is not uncommon to many Vietnamese American refugees who fled from Vietnam to the US to begin TRUELY LIVING in a democratic society. At the present moment and given how things are currently in Vietnam, I bet that Councilwoman Dina Nguyen is proud of the fact that she is an American citizen and that she luckily grew up in Orange County. A different opinion than Mr. Gustavo Arellano is that she is probably "ashamed" of the fact that the Vietnamese Communist Party has been exerting "OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL" over PERSONS BORN IN VIETNAM by labeling them as citizens of Vietnam, whether they have denounced the Vietnam Communist Party and are of citizenship elsewhere . Realistically, being born in Vietnam is a non-factor and of no significance to a US citizen like Dina Nguyen, because Vietnam (Present Communist Government) offers NO basic human rights and has NO democracy. Like all Americans, Mr. Gustavo Arellano has a right to speak up and voice his opinion. Thanks for giving me one more opportunity to say how lucky we, including Dina Nguyen, are to be Americans. Let's us help all elected officials stay mainstream and not try to bombard them with no nonsense issues aimed to detract them from their commitment to public service. HELP US STAY MAINSTREAM! Mr. Gustavo Arellano, while you are at it. Please tell us more about how unhappy OC employees are with Janet Nguyen and the Board of Supervisors and what plans Andrew Do, Dina Nguyen, and the remaining Garden Grove council members have for the City of Garden Grove? We want you to hit home regarding the real issues 1. concerning the Board of Supervisors : approving hundreds and thousands of dollars in remodeling their own offices, laying off hundreds of employees, proposing more cuts in services and employees, undermining unions urge to consider alternative budget plans, etc. 2. concerning the City of Garden Grove: considering plans for budget cuts, re-organizing and preserving present staff, utilizing reserves during budget crisis, balancing public safety needs, etc.
