The Deification of Gary McKnight Must Stop

Both the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register have tripped over themselves this month in the attempt to give the swooning-est review of Mater Dei High's current varsity basketball squad and its head coach, Gary McKnight. The Times says McKnight "is used to ridiculous riches,"while Reg columnist Mark Whicker contributed another Valentine, noting the largest Catholic school west of Chicago were "pioneers in making high school basketball a nationally played sport, for good or ill."

Problem is, the Times and Register sports sections didn't bother, either this month or ever, to mention McKnight's true ill: allowing a known statutory rapist back on campus. The man, of course, is Jeff Andrade, whom Mater Dei officials let go in 1996 after finding out he was schtupping a student, a crime for which Diocese of Orange Bishop Tod D. Brown had to pay out a couple of million dollars. A high school coach that doesn't seem to mind statutory rape and threatens to sue journalists who expose him for such crap--geez, Times and Reg sports desk, don't you think parents should know this pertinent bit of information? The only mitigating factor in this is that when you Google "Gary McKnight," my cover story on the Round Mound of Inbound pops up first. Ha! Not only does God exist, but He apparently graduated from Servite High...

First of all, Gary McNugget is overrated. That's right, overrated. My grandmother would win championships wtih McNugget's talent. Mater Dei is a farce. A fraud. Improprieties, the best that money can buy. Enabling Coaches to bang 15 year olds. Geeze, that girl was quite the little ho. Anyhow, the red faced mound of inbound food should be ashamed, heck, impersonating a true , sound, fit? coach. For the love of god, can't anybody see through all those lipids?. You peel off that 200 pound bacon suite he dresses in and what do you have? Not a great coach. what you have is somebody who just happened to be sitting in the chair when the music stopped, probably stuffing his face with birthday cake.

That is very ignorant to speak of Coach Mc Knight in that way. He's a Great guy and he cares a great deal for his students/players. CHS, please notice that I am referring to Yiddish language and not Jewis people. The Yiddish language is actually pigeon German language spoken by Jews living in Germany. It is same like speaking Ebonics in the USA. The Yiddish language is not sinonimous with Hebrew or East European Semitic languages! There is no doubt that the Diocese of Orange is wealthier today than before paying out the $100 million clergy sex abuse settlement in 2004 and the $7 million in October 2007. If the Times and Register were threatened, then for survival reasons, the good press about the Diocese of Orange and its powerhouse sports teams will continue... it is called PAYBACK TIME! The Diocese of Orange can be very effective when it comes to exploiting others. In the minds of many, maybe it is another one of those backroom dirty deals that the Diocese orchestrated with media contacts, law enforcement and politicians that enabled sex crimes against children to disappear, without accountability in courts of law. Afterall, how many employees of the Diocese of Orange were criminally prosecuted by Catholic District Attorney Anthony Rackauckas? For those who know the truth, continue to pray for the children, adults, families and employees that are continually blackmailed, intimidated and forced to continue employment in a discriminatory workplace. In my opinion, the Diocese of Orange sold its soul and common decency responsibilities to the devil long ago.
As awful as it is, we shouldn't be surprised. Perpetrators and their protectors (like McKnight, Msgr. John Urell and fmr MD now Santa Margarita administrator Lu Dominguez) have always been given god-like status at the school - and in the Diocese of Orange in general. Coaches, principals and choir directors bring in the $$ and the prestige. How dare we victims complain because we can't keep them out of our pants? Apparently, Mater Dei takes the "long view:" Victims go away, suffer with addictions, commit suicide, and hide from society. But a winning basketball coach is forever.
