• Add Brusic and his idiot Deputy Editors to the list of Nimrods running the madhouse. Does anyone know what Jeff Light actually does for a living?

• For a company like Freedom Communications who claims the layoffs are necessary to stem the flow of red ink flowing from its balance sheets, it doesn't take Scotty Flanders and the hapless Jon Segal too long to find money for the company's 33 ad directors to spend a few days in Sin City under the guise of a "Business Meeting" Oh to be a fly on the wall of that Vegas trip as the moronic Segal tries to remember 33 names all the while attempting to get in some tennis in between meetings on how better to use Salesforce.com so that the retard who signed off this worthless platform (But costs Freedom roughtly $67,000 each month) can say it's useful. What teleconferencing is only for the few minnions left back in their foxholes? Freedom Com. is F'd Up and it is run by IDIOTS

• It starts at the VERY top: Scott Flanders is a failure and so is Jon Segal who's only in his position because of his father. These two nimrods are steering the ship from Freedom Communications straight into the iceberg.

• I say cut the Juice webisodes ... srsly, do we need two more people with crappy i'm-totally-hip-and-cool-and-you-can-be-hip-and-cool-and-in-the-know-too!! banter. Eff that. • OCCustomer: Hey, I'm the first to admit that posting unconfirmed gossip about what's happening at the Register isn't traditional journalism and I've made no attempt to disguise the fact that this is thinly sourced. I don't know if Brusic is leaving or not either, just that a source inside the paper yesterday said he might jump at the offer, and a bit later, that it appeared he was sticking around. Brusic has never returned any of my telephone calls seeking comment. But okay, point taken, I'll get back to more important work now. Thanks for the advice!

• Nick, you are a decent guy in a position to be valuable to readers. Don't blow it by posting information that is thinly reported and substantiated. And then don't further blow it by juvenile responses to critical posts. Rise above your employer. Serve the reader. I don't know if Brusic is leaving or staying but you'd better be sure if you are reporting one way or the other. Otherwise, the rest is noise. Real time? What kind of an excuse is that? Journalists have been writing on deadline since before you were born. Remember Evening paper deadlines? Maybe not. Anyway, are you a journalist or not? Sack up and do the kind of work you are capable of.

• To OCW doubter: Ouch. I feel your pain. This blog post, as well as previous posts in OC Register Death Watch, provides real-time updates on the situation unfolding at your paper. Accuracy, therefore, can only be understood in a real-time sense, i.e., a knowledgeable source at your paper said Brusic was thinking about taking a buyout, and later, decided against it. Confused? Here are a few simple analogies. Stock prices plummeted early today, and then rose a bit. The sun rose in the morning and then set. Situations change; the fact that the Register still hasn't fleeced itself of Weekly-hating nail-biters apparently hasn't. Everyone else: Stay tuned for more updates (not on astral positioning or economic trends) as this distressing story at the Register develops.

• Wow, it is amazing how clever Nick is at predicting the outcomes of this. Brusic may leave or he may stay. I have a hunch you are right on the money with your predictions, at least one of them. Get a real job, Nick.

• My reliable source now says that as of this afternoon, Brusic is likely to remain at the Register, at least for now. No word yet as to who may take a buyout. Also, in case anyone is wondering--given my praise of his story in the above post--Gittelsohn is NOT my source. Duh.
