I wrote about the weekly live music at The District at Tustin Legacy a couple days ago, and this Saturday The Block at Orange is hosting "Rock ‘n Road: Where the Music Meets the Road," which brings together high school bands and road safety education. Finally!
As you can see, the flier takes the concept quite literally, by placing a drawing of drum sticks (representing the rock) on top of a stylized "OC" that looks like a road (representing the, uh, road) and the logo for the show "The OC" (you guys must be really sick of that by now).
The music portion of the day is a competition of local high school bands, with two rounds taking place between 1 and 2 p.m. and 5 and 6 p.m., with the winners playing from 7 to 8 p.m. If you happen to be a high school band, they're still accepting entries until midnight Wednesday, so get on that already.
The event is co-produced by a bunch of organizations, including RADD, "The Entertainment Industry's Voice for Road Safety." But it doesn't have anything to do with Orange County bike shop chain Rock N' Road Cyclery (they have their apostrophe on the other side of the "N," duh).
