Just a couple short days after appearing at the House of Blues in Anaheim (and in the pages of
OC Weekly's freshly minted music column,
Sound Guy, penned by a certain totally awesome dude), LA-based Smiths cover band Sweet and Tender Hooligans were announced as returning to our county on March 28 at
Detroit Bar. "
Go get 'em cause this is gonna sell out quick," says the venue, which I guess is...possible.It's certainly not a bad time to capitalize on Moztalgia, given that Morrissey's latest solo record,
Years of Refusal, is comes out stateside on Feb. 19. Tracks include: "Something Is Squeezing My Skull," "Mama Lay Softly On the Riverbed" and "One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell." Yes, at this point Morrissey song titles sound kind of like a Mad Libs of melodramatic words, but that doesn't mean that they aren't good. Also included, somewhat puzzlingly, are "That's How People Grow Up" and "All You Need Is Me," from his 2008 Greatest Hits album and played live extensively during his 2007 tour.
The just-released video for Morrissey's latest single, "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris," is after the jump.
