Presenting: Insane Clown Posse Fans

Get that hatchet gear out: Photos a plenty of juggalos and Juggalettes at Sunday night's Grove of Anaheim Insane Clown Posse show. What's scarier than an Insane Clown Posse fan? An entire venue of them. See?

Scroll through these photos of the most dedicated fans in the world--face paint, Faygo, talks of Shangri-Lai, Anabelle Lotus (sorry) and all. Whoop, whoop. (P.S. If for some reason you're looking for live photos of the show, just click here.)

Slideshow: KCRW Summer Nights at OCPAC

kcrwsummernights.jpg

KCRW might be based all the way in Santa Monica, but the noted public radio station still considers Orange County an important part of their market--thus events like the KCRW Summer Nights dance party that went down this past Saturday at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. KCRW music director/Morning Becomes Eclectic host Jason Bentley DJed, along with fellow KCRW host Jeremy Sole. Andrew Youssef was there taking some pictures, check those here.

Jeremy Sole recently started a new DJ night called "Branches" (funk, soul, afrobeat) every third Tuesday at the Continental Room in Fullerton, and as things turn out, tomorrow is the third Tuesday of the month! So check that out if you're craving more KCRW goodness, or read my two-part Q&A with Bentley from June. And hey, while you're at, might as well look at a couple of more slideshows from the weekend, like the D23 Expo or the Boston Buddies Tea Party (dogs!).

Slideshows: Orange International Street Fair, OC Roller Derby

There's a Labor Day weekend tradition even more sacred than the Jerry Lewis telethon: the Orange International Street Fair, which this year took place September 4 through 6 in historic/beautiful/adorable/insert positive adjective here downtown Orange. If you weren't brave enough to face--and attempt to wade through--the massive crowds, we've got your back, with this slideshow by photographer Chris Victorio. (CV also shot Nine Inch Nails on Thursday at the Hollywood Palladium, those photos are here.)

More fun stuff from over the weekend to gaze upon: Saturday's OC Roller Girls bout between the Huntington Heartbreakers and the Psycho Ex-Girlfriends, shot by Keith May here; and May back to work on Sunday at the "11th Annual Wood Racket Classic Tournament." peep those pics here.

Slideshows: Street Scene, Def Leppard, More

Beth Stirnaman

Do you not know Chromeo by now? Really? Well, that's them up there, playing Street Scene in San Diego this past Friday night. They were awesome. Also awesome: Beth Stirnaman's photographs from day one and day two of the festival. It was like Coachella, but less people, not as many bands, but less time in the hot sun and in the middle of a lovely downtown area instead out in the desert in the middle of nowhere. So, an even trade?

But Street Scene wasn't the only event we were all over this weekend. How about Andrew Youssef's photos from Sunday night's Def Leppard and Poison show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine? The pictures are VH1 reality series-riffic! Do you enjoy beer? How about a fest celebrating the beverage? Keith May was at the Orange County Beer Fest in Irvine Lake, look at his pics here. Keith May also saw this week's Weekly cover subjects Los Cojolites in Santa Ana, taking these fab photos.

Slideshows: Marilyn Manson at the Grove of Anaheim, Los Campesinos! at Detroit Bar

Monday night might seem entirely too mellow to experience something like a Marilyn Manson concert. Well, if you truly believe that, you can't hang like the Grove of Anaheim crowd can, who last night took everything the shock rock icon was willing to give them. Photographer Chris Victorio was there as well, and came back with a whopping 59 (!) photos for your perusal. Start said perusal process here.

Also slideshowin': Sunday night's show at Detroit Bar with Los Campesinos!, a concert approximately 179.5 degrees away from Marilyn Manson in terms of music, fans and culture, but one no less deserving of your clicking attention (or exclamation points). Those photos can be found here, by Andrew Youssef. Yep! (Oh, and check out Ned Raggett's piece on Los Camp here.)

Slideshow: Epicenter and Pomona Fairplex, Musicians Swap Meet at Old World Village

epicenter.jpg

Do you like to rock? Yes? Well, if so, you probably already were at Saturday's Epicenter show at the Pomona Fairplex in (um, let me guess this one) Pomona. Artists included: Alice in Chains, Linkin Park, Tool, Atreyu, Wolfmother and heaps more. So you were probably totally there, rocking out. Oh, what's this? You didn't make it out? Oh. I see. Well, take a look at this slideshow by Chris Victorio, then. It's the next best thing!

OK, OK, backs against the wall here, people. Sounds like you want one more slideshow. Then how about this one by Keith May, at the surprisingly busy Musicians Swap Meet from Sunday that helped breathe some momentary life into creaky ol' Old World Village, which is here. (Oh, and check out Spencer Kornhaber's story on the place here.)

Slideshows: Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy at the Honda Center, OC Pride: Picnic in the Park

Lil Wayne's all "whoa, dudes."

We saw some stuff over the weekend. While some may argue whether or not it was better than midget wrestling at the Galaxy, it was still pretty swell. Well, maybe it's not right to say "we" saw stuff over the weekend--these were both Chris Victorio specials. First there was the show Friday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, with Lil Wayne (pictured) and our new friend Soulja Boy doing their things. Those pics are here. On a rather different note, Saturday afternoon was the OC Pride: Picnic in the Park in Irvine, which CV was also photographing at. Check that out here.

Slideshow: Saturday's No Doubt, Paramore, the Sounds Concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

It's No Doubt Central around here. Amanda Parsons threw up the setlist from Friday's show, and here are Andrew Youssef's pictures Gwen, Tony, Tom and Adrian-filled from Saturday's way beyond sold-out gig (he couldn't even stay past three songs, poor guy). Coming up: John Gilhooley's doubtlessly dazzling shots from Sunday night at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, and a review of Tuesday night's final Irvine show, with supporting act Katy Perry stepping in for Paramore. (The Sounds will still open, as they did the first three shows.)

Slideshows: So Much Weekend Stuff! New Kids on the Block (Really), 'Made You Look,' More

Robert Fayette

The youngest member of New Kids on the Block, Joey McIntyre, is 36. But age isn't stopping the five reunited "kids" from touring, and they hit up Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine on Friday. Robert Fayette, bless him, was there. Here are the pics. Click on them "step by step." They've got "the right stuff." And so on!

Also from this past weekend: Chris Victorio photographed Detroit Bar dance night "Made You Look" on Saturday, which featured, among others, Colossal KNXN (check out Nate Jackson's interview with them, from last month in the Weekly, right here). Pics? Here.

Oh, and don't snooze on Keith May photographing the surfing dogs or Andrew Youssef's Mighty Mighty Bosstones pictures from Thursday, either.

Slideshow: Freedom Creative Arts Fest II at eVocal

evocal3.jpg

Unfortunately, I know not all of you made it out to the "Freedom Creative Arts Fest II" at eVocal this past Saturday. It was the Fourth of July, after all, and put together with pretty short notice. (The lure of driveway fireworks is a strong one.) But given that, it was still a remarkable event, bringing together some top-notch local acts, celebrating independent art and music and saying goodbye to the venue--it was eVocal's second to last show.

I was there; here are my pictures. Click away!
