Sad day for all ages rock, which is now back down to Chain Reaction, Plush Cafe and a few churches. SolArt owner Sali Heraldez wrote in seconds ago to announce that her gallery/cafe/experiment in human decency is ending:

We were given a 30 day notice to move out a few days ago. According to the owner, he is upgrading the building and will be renting to a "profitable business with a license." We are still in shock . . . of course . . . but nothing we can do.

There'll be a 3-year-anniversary party on January 27. Word from Sali is they're looking for a DJ. Bring a friend and a thank you card and your dancing shoes for one last night under the street light.

    Sol Art is place that has supported endless community activities, local organziations, artists, and muscicians of all ages and types. Sol Art is a place where get a warm welcome with a smiles and a cup of mate. Sol Art will be very missed!

    Unfortunatley there are ungrateful and greedy creatures who cannot appreciate the hard work of Sol Art to create a community space for all to express their talents.

    Sol Art has been a very important part of the community that has provided a lot of support and love for the arts. Coming from a local non profit, Sol Art has always supported our work!

    Won't miss it, really, although it was a great place to keep caught up on the snobby OC art cliques. Plus Sali can be quite the bitch. Cheers.

    the real reason that the SolArt Gallery is closing ( pay your rent )
    and yes it serves her right , stealing peoples art and selling it on the side , stabbing "friends" in the back , and flat out using every one to get her name in a paper .
