R.I.P. Casey Calvert of Hawthorne Heights

On Saturday November 24, Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert was found dead inside the band's tour bus just hours before a show in Washington D.C.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

This message was posted on the band's website:

“Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We’ve spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we’re not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don’t contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don’t want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.

    This is still a shock to me. I woke up monday and watched trl on mtv and the last thing i expected was to hear that a member of my 2nd favorite band had passed away with no warning. I strongly believe that drugs were not a factor in this mishap. I have met and spoken to Casey personally and i didnt find him to be the type that would resort to drugs. He was so outgoing and quirky and probably one of the funniest people i have ever met. Now dont get me wrong i did not know talk to him daily nor was i close with him or his family but when i did meet and talk with him he didnt come off as that type of person. These rumors of heroin and other drugs of that nature being a factor in his death are just that. RUMORS!!!! People who spread these or believe them GET A LIFE!!!!! If u followed this band at all u would know that Casey was AWESOME and in my eyes i think we just lost one of the best guys EVER! U will be always missed Casey...Words cant describe how we all feel at this time. I wish i could "wake up" and none of this be real. We will see you again screamo...ILY... :( :(

    This stuff is still a shock to me and I heard about it the day after it happened. Having rumors spread about someone is just mean. I'm so sorry to hear this. We all loved Casey and sooner or later something good will come out of this because everything happens for a reason and the results are good most of the time......ILY......Rosalie
