I'm sure by now that most of you who read this are aware our editor-in-chief, Will Swaim, has resigned. What you may not be aware of, however, is our boss's penchant for singing—constantly. Seriously. Dude sings more than Rebecca Schoenkopf does. Which is A LOT. Anyway. In memorium, I'm posting the official Will Swaim playlist. If Will owned (and could figure out how to operate) an iPod, here's what would be on it:
Elvis Costello, "What's So Funny (About Peace, Love and Understanding)?"
The Clash, "London Calling"
Public Enemy, "Fight the Power"
Kanye West, "Gold Digger"
The Smiths, "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out"
Rage Against the Machine, "Bulls on Parade"
R.E.M., "Driver Eight"
Franz Ferdinand, "Take Me Out"
Three 6 Mafia, "Hard Out There for a Pimp"
You'll be missed, boss.

How 'bout some local LONG BEACH music on that list?

I'm hoping someone will read this and furnish an email address for Will. I'd like to participate in his new Long Beach venture.
Thanks sincerely,
Charla

I am very saddened and shocked to read that Mr. Swaim has resigned. I do hope he keeps his insightful commentary ongoing at his new job. What's the reason for his resignation? My hope is that an even bigger paper with similar in-depth reporting is waiting in the wings for him...
Best to Mr. Swaim... Hate to see you go...
