Justin Bieber in OC: Surprises Diggy Simmons and LilTwist at the House of Blues

These surprise visits are getting to be a regular occurrence. First it was eating at Chick-Fil-A in Laguna Niguel. Then it was the Biebs popping into the normally 21-over La Cave to sing with Ernie Halter. Now we find out that Justin Bieber was at the House of Blues in Anaheim last Sunday to show support for Joseph "Rev Run" Simmon's son, Daniel "Diggy" Simmons and LilTwist. Aaron Barrett of Reel Big Fish Goes on Tour After Near-Death Experience with Ruptured Appendix

Reel Big Fish, one of OC's stawarts from the mid-'90s ska phenomenon, have been touring hard lately. They just came back from Europe, are headed to South America in October this year and just kicked off their US summer tour with Streetlight Manifesto in Texas! The band have two musical pit stops near us--one at the Grove in Anaheim and another at Club Nokia in LA.

OC Weekly caught up with singer Aaron Barrett before their tour kicks off; he shares his feelings about touring again and how hardcore he is, performing right after going through surgery for acute appendicitis.

Actor Wendell Pierce To Play B.B. King in Movie Based on Golden Bear Meeting

Actor Wendell Pierce will be starring as B.B. King--the "King of Blues"--in an upcoming film, B.B. King and I. It's based on an encounter that aspiring drummer Michael Zanetis had with B.B. King at the back stage of Huntington Beach venue Golden Bear, after which he became lifelong friends with the king.

Listen to Weezer's Sell Out Album 'Hurley' Streaming in its Entirety Today

Weezer will be streaming all of Hurley, its eighth album, online today at www.myspace.com/weezer. The album will be released everywhere on Sept. 14.

Like we've mentioned before on Heard Mentality,  Weezer claims the cover was inspired by Jorge Garcia, who plays the character named Hurley on ABC's hit show "Lost." But the band is also doing a promo with Hurley the clothing company and recorded the album there.

Lady Gaga premiered a ballad at her St. Paul, Minn. concert last night. Called "Living on the Radio," it's reminiscent of the piano-pop staples Gaga wrote as Stefani Germanotta. It's definitely not the new "Pokerface." Lady Gaga told last night's crowd that there are no plans to release the song in an album...yet. Watch it after the jump.

Avenged Sevenfold Wants to Chat

So Huntington Beach's Avenged Sevenfold released their fifth studio album, Nightmare, yesterday. Tomorrow at 2 p.m., they'll be holding a live chat with fans who've bought a  copy of their album. You can watch it here

Starting tomorrow, too, fans can buy a copy of Nightmare at the Best Buy store in Orange  (2375 N. Tustin St.) to get a wristband that gives them a chance to meet the band at an in-store signing on Friday, August 6.

The Simpsons Weighs in on Comic-Con Moving to Anaheim

We've spilled a good amount of digital ink on what a truly terrible idea Comic-Con International moving from San Diego to Anaheim (or Los Angeles) is, even if there are still about 3,000 people on Facebook who think otherwise. Luckily, our side has gotten some noteworthy support, as the vastly influential, albeit fictional, Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons added his take to the debate last week.
