Martin Brown, producer of the Orange County Music Awards, gives us the news that Lance Romance, lead singer of longtime OC band the Attraction, died of a heart attack in his Huntington Beach home on Saturday, November 10th. He was only 36. Writes Martin:
"Lance (real last name: Faulk) was living on borrowed time, having had heart problems for many years. Known for his crazy antics and incredible energy, both on and off stage, Lance believed in living life to the full. In Orange County, where even musicians blend in easily with the standard crowd at generic restaurants and bars, Lance stood out. His preference for makeup and hats (a la Clockwork Orange) made him noticeable in a positive way. He was having fun at the world’s expense!
As the lead singer and main songwriter of his band, Lance will be irreplaceable. But, more than this, he will be missed by his young son Wylan, who was such an important part of Lance’s life. Why these things have to happen is completely beyond my comprehension, and I just count myself as lucky to have had the pleasure of working with Lance on many different musical projects. Lance Romance may have died, but his two-foot silver sparkling penis will live on forever."
Rickie says:
He gave us so much. I can remember the first time seeing The Attraction play and I've been going to their shows and parties for four years. I am a dedicated "groupie."
He certainly lived everyday to it's fullest Carpe Diem! As he said in his last email to me on the ninth, "Always good! Always horny!" Lance was a good friend and a great soul that passed before his time. He gave me so many good memories and that will live in my heart forever.
He will be missed.

I was one of Josh Lee's co-workers who is also in the Band. I met Lance only once at the store, but his bright smile, and friendly manner stuck with me though out the bands career. I send my condolences to Lance's family, friends, and JOSH LEE who is a great friend..
THANKS,
Lee Gerber

I had the pleasure of working with Lance at the Hyatt. He always had a smile on his face & HIS SPIRIT was apparent already. He was a one of kind person. When we met we talked about our health issues & how it does make you become a different, more patient, kind person and also someone who wants to enjoy life to it's fullest! God Bless his family & friends who really miss his company. Life won't be the same without him I know. The GOOD DO DIE YOUNG! He is proof of that. Love, Becca

I remember when I went to one of their first shows at TacoSurf in Huntington Beach. The drummer (Humper T.) is my cousin. Lance had so much energy and kept the crowd alive. Lance had faced death once, and since then he lived every day like it's the best and last day of his life. Lance took my sister and I up on stage and sang to "Johnny".Lance you will be missed forever.
