Local Music Reacts to Michael Jackson's Death Via Twitter (How Else?)

Word of Michael Jackson's death at age 50 pretty much shut down the Internet, with Twitter in particularly nearly crushing under the weight of the news (failwhales a'plenty!).

Unsurprisingly, plenty of local music folks weighed in on Jackson's passing, and here's a sample of some of the more tweeted reactions:

The Union Line (@theunionline): "A moment of silence for the king of pop... You'll be missed"

Pop Noir (@PopNoir): "
Big R.I.P. For Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, and Sky Saxon. Anyone else?"

Stacy Clark (@stacyclark): "
King of pop is dead! Crazy!"

Billy Kernkamp (@Billykernkamp): "I'm sure there are a few kid's who will be resting in peace tonight......"

Parade of Lights (@paradeoflights): "
#RIP Hey...due to conflicting reports...PARADE OF LIGHTS ARE IN FACT STILL ALIVE!"

And if you're looking for a bit of a laugh (it'll help the grieving process! really!), check out my bud Martin Cizmar's piece on MJ over at Up on the Sun. Oh, and don't forget to follow our Twitter (using the death of a controversial music icon to plug a Twitter? This might be my personal nadir).

I saw the Jackson 5 40 yrs ago and loved them ever since, of course especially Michael. He was phenomenal with voice and dance and had a gentle loving soul. He was betrayed by the media and their overblown reporting and betrayed by the medical profession by giving him too many prescription drugs. His heart probably suffered from too many drugs. He was not supposed to die now, I feel he could have been saved. It is an absolute tragedy. There are few tremendously gifted individuals and Michael was one of them. He was blessed. BC

I must say that I personally didn't know Michael Jackson personally but I really did and will always enjoy his music such as bad, beat it, smooth criminal, thrillers and much much more and also everytime I see him breakdancing with his own style to his own beat it really used to make me feel like breakdancing as well as a matter of fact I had d smooth criminal real good. But now my inspiration has is gone. But let me assure you that this life isn't all there is and Michael Jackson will be ressurrected to life on a Paradise earth and I will make sure to be there to welcome him back because this life isn't all there is. Don't trust me but trust Jehovah's word the bible. It helps us to see that many who have fallen asleep in death will have the prospect of coming back to life as soon as this wicked system is removed. Read John 5:28,29. And you will learn something. But Michael Jackson I was one of your biggest fans and I'm sorry I never met you personally but I will meet you again and thats a fact when you are resurrected. Well, please read my note and be encouraged because what god's word d bible says will definitely come true. So try to have a good day and don't give up on life. Peace!
