Well, the pioneers of Grey's Anatomy-rock and the similarly minded Jack's Mannequin, led by Orange County product Andrew McMahon, are coming to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine on July 29. They should totally call the tour "the pimps of piano rock" or something wacky like that (it's no "Monsters of Megaphone," but what is?). Fellow piano-heavy troupe Vedera open up. Tickets on sale this Friday (March 20) at 10 a.m., $20.50-$49.50. Jack's Mannequin were supposed to play the Grove in May, but that show was scrapped in favor of joining up with the Fray on this tour, so this is McMahon's first OC show in a bit.
