The Next Big Thing: Zhu Zhu Pets

If you're wondering why we haven't yet heard about this holiday season's it-toy, rest assured. Presenting: Zhu Zhu Pets.

Fuzzy, squirmy "pet" hamster dolls that zoom around tracks, chase balls, run in wheels and even cars (apparently, even a hamster "garage" is available)--but without all that nasty potential rodent cannibalism, death and poop stuff.

And don't think you're way ahead of the game, either: A buddy of ours in Yorba Linda has already paid her motherly duty and stood in a long line outside of her local Toys "R" Us about an hour before opening time.

After the jump: The Zhu Zhu Pets commercial and catchy-as-all-fuck jingle that will surely soon haunt your dreams.

Hope you got a few hundred stashed away for some eBay huntin' fun!

These are great and the kids are going nuts for them. The prices are definitely irrational and hope the supply demand thing will settle out ok for the holiday. Hate to see people spending $80 for a $30 product at best. http://hamstergogo.com/

I am already hating these things. I am a single mother on extremely limited income, actually it is so bad this year, I really dont even know if christmas is a holiday we will be celebrating this year. My daughter wants these darn things so bad and since just the hamsters are between 5 and 8 dollars, I figure I can swing it. However, these toys are impossible to find in the stores and online they are any where from 45 - 100 dollars. So unless I find them in a store, they will not be under our tree this year.

those Zhu Zhu pets are almost impossible to find at this point, i spent most of my "cyber monday" searching for one (that wasn't excessively overpriced) and couldn't find one

Would you have believed anybody if you were told that one of the more popular toys of 2009 would be a robotic hamster? Well, it seems that the Zhu Zhu Pets are just that. Generally costing $10 a pop, it seems like things are getting out of hand during this holiday season though, as a hamster on Amazon is priced at $58. Too bad these hamsters don’t have Bluetooth, 3G, or a camera, eh? Check out http://www.efoundit.com/

Once again a holiday season of NOT being able to buy something for our children because we CANNOT find them. Poor planning on the mfg or is it the buyers? Anyway, one should not have to stand in a line to buy these things! Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night.

I received the ipod touch WAY sooner than I expected it and it was in perfect condition. It works wonderfully! The ITOUCH is fast and the touch screen is SO COOL!
The only drawback I have found is that you have to download the wifi app and music through a computer and once you are linked with that computer - it is the only computer you can use with the ITOUCH unless you download a special program that allows you to use more than one computer with it.
However, once you have the wifi app on the itouch then you can download itunes and apps in any wifi accessable area.
