The Five Best Local EDM Shows in April
James Caleb Cornette aka Amtrac was on everyone's radar after opening for Kaskade on his Atmosphere Tour late last year and remixing the hit single of the same title. The Kentucky songwriter, producer, vocalist, instrumentalist, and DJ is one of the HARD dawgs playing events like HARD Miami, Ultra Music Festival, Day of the Dead, and Tomorrowworld! The up and coming 25 year old fuses deep house with nu disco and is the perfect fit for Posch's new Maison Saturdays which caters to the more mature sounds of dance music.
Brazabelle & Bixel Boys
LED favorite DJ Brazabelle comes back to OC as part of Havoc Thursday's at the Yost Theater with LA's Bixel Boys. Rob May and Ian McPherson are know for bringing the underground tech house sound to big rooms such as the Yost with an electro twist. This is the perfect opening support for Brazzy's stream of mash-ups, remixes, and originals which are quickly cementing her as one of EDM's leading ladies. Since her release of "Break Your Body," the artist born Brittney Bowles has proven she can go just as hard and dirty as the boys with bangers like her recent "What is Love" remix.
Few can argue that Audien's "Wayfarer" became a classic trance tune after being the first track played on Above & Beyond's Group Therapy radio show. Born Nate Rathbun in Connecticut, the young producer opened for Armin van Buuren at New York's Roseland Ballroom in 2011 and has since seen unprecedented success with his progressive house to electro sound. Rathbun most recently played ASOT 650 in Utrecht, EDC Mexico, and Ultra Music Festival in Miami. After playing Insomniac's new We Are NRG event over the weekend, he makes his way to Sutra this Thursday.
