Kurt Cobain's life and death is unarguably the most discussed, dissected and speculated benchmark in the music industry. Now, 20 years after his death, we're still enamored with the man who sparked the grunge period and shaped the music of the 90s.

Despite the end of Cobain's life and career, headlines constantly emerge: "20 Years After Kurt's Death: What Changed and What Didn't..."; "New Death Scene Photos Released..."; "Intimate Photographs of Troubled Rock Star..."; "Here's What Kurt Cobain Would Look Like At Age 46." We just can't seem to get enough of the notorious Nirvana frontman.

It's no surprise that Nirvana is played on the radio as often as contemporary songs. Still, 20 years later, Cobain's music is reaching a new, core audience, many of whom weren't even born before Cobain died.

Here's what Cobain had to say about his life under the media's microscope.

The baggy grunge look was better than skinny jeans below the butt...that is right....The skin tight Sergio Valente jeans from the 80's were better than guys walking around like inmates walking around, advertising that they are available for action. Which is what started below the butt skinny jeans. I will be glad to go back to grunge. I love Cobains music and wish he were still making music.

"Kurt Cobain's life and death is [sic](maybe should be, '...life and death ARE...') unarguably the most discussed, dissected and speculated benchmark in the music industry. Now, 20 years after his death, we're still enamored with the man who sparked the grunge period and shaped the music of the 90s." Nnnnnnnnnnnot really... one of the sloppiest eras of music in my memory... "grunge" "plaid", *oooooh, how exciting*. And these "quotes".... hmmmm, If I were this "journalist" I would try getting out more or exploring some other genres.... this seems like it's coming from a very limited perspective. Careful with words like "unarguably" and "enamored".... unless you just want to preach to the choir and display a lack of width... On the plus side, grunge did sway music back to a more 'organic' sound sans machines and allowed guitar players with mediocre skill level to emulate something that was on the radio.

Guessing you're about 70 years old or a Dream Theater fan. Or both.

I vividly recall the news. I was in a Simi Valley tire shop waiting for my tires to be installed.
