Slightly Stoopid--See Friday
Don't forget to check out our constantly updated OC Concert Calendar
Friday, July 12th
San Diego natives Slightly Stoopid are on a huge summer tour with Minnesota rap outfit Atmosphere and fellow San Diego reggae group Tribal Seeds. This Friday's Irvine date will be the one of the most local dates for headliners Slightly Stoopid. As probably the biggest So Cal reggae show of the summer, the Verizon Amphitheatre will be bursting at the seams with ganja smoke and reggae rock tunes. One of the coolest spots and definitely the place to be at this show is the Verizon Amphitheatre lawn seating.
Getting "Bubbly" under the hot sun of the Orange County Fair, Colbie Caillat is bringing her signature laid back acoustic-pop sound to the people of Costa Mesa. After wining a Grammy for her song "Lucky" with Jason Mraz in 2010, this Malibu born Pop-star has been turning beach-ready love songs into huge radio singles. Whether you are accidentally caught singing along to her songs in your dentist's waiting room, or your secretly blasting her songs on your iPod, you won't have to worry this Friday night about the embarrassment of enjoying Caillat's tunes because everyone in the crowd will be just as starry-eyed as you are.
The Hermosa Beach punk band that did more for the LA hardcore punk scene than any band to date is back together. Greg Ginn and his rejuvenated line-up are playing the Observatory 2 days in a row. This is not Keith Morris's Flag, or the cover band Black Fag, this is the real deal Black Flag reunion. With the legal rights to the name and more original members than Flag, this is the closest you will come to seeing Black Flag right now. With Henry Rollins heavily doubting and shooting down rumors that he will ever go to back to singing for the band, this is probably the closest you will get ever again.
