Hottest Girls of EDC 2012 - Matt Oliver 10
Matt Oliver / OC Weekly
After leaving fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation for the sold out 17th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway -- Insomniac finally revealed the diverse lineup of musical "conductors" as founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella likes to call them. This year's list includes musical acts, artists and theatrical performers. Yesterday we told you that HARD events will also present a stage at this year's festival, which takes place June 21-23 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from 6p.m.-6 a.m. The full lineup is listed in alphabetical order below.

Insomniac has now taken over Las Vegas for an entire week of special events, clubs, pool parties, a music conference and award show all leading up to the main event, which is expected to draw 345,000 festival "headliners" or attendees together under the dessert sky to experience a massive carnival experience featuring theatrical performers, fire twirlers, aerialist, dancers and stilt walkers on top of artist as diverse as Empire of the Sun, Calvin Harris, Dubfire, Sub Focus, Headhunterz and 12th Planet. Though Kaskade was initially announced on the lineup for the festival, he's since confirmed via Twitter that he will not be at EDC this year.

All incredible producers, DJs and taste makers in their own right on the bill, we are most excited for the large-scale art installations which the festival is most known for. Our favorite Wide Awake Art Cart will be hosted by LA's music blog Gotta Dance Dirty one night and will feature their usual suspects (some OC and LB natives) Troy, Bones, Craig Wilkiams, Tropicool and Shae B. Also on our radar is the Get Lost? Stage hosted by our favorite Crosstown Rebels Damian Lazarus and friends. And who could forget all of the HARD dawgs like Claude VonStroke, Kill the Noise and Tiga.

"Each Year our fans' inspire us to exceed their expectations - there's truly something in it for everyone," said Rotella in a press statement. "EDC will feature a slate of original artwork, a Discovery Project featuring emerging names and collaborations within dance music culture. I'm excited for our fans - the true headliners - to experience this firsthand." The full line-up is below. So what do you think? Did EDC Las Vegas exceed your expectations and who are you most excited to see?

How can you want andrew rayel and thomas heredia and still call this lineup crap with Bryan fuckin Kearney and indecent noise and simon patterson on the lineup?! This is totally unexpected. It's a good lineup...better than last years for sure

Oh fire twirlers! I can't wait to get lost in the magical kingdom that is EDC :)

1.   Kaskade is NOT performing at EDC.  He said they made a mistake.  How many others on the list are listed as a "mistake'?

2.  Get off Pasq/s jock for fucks sake girl.   Call this lineup what it is.   CRAP!   How can the DJ who saved the blown out Saturday show last year not be there this year?    No Andrew Rayel?  Tomas Heredia?

3.  This event is not sold out by any means and single day tickets will magically appear 3 weeks before the event.

@cat_nip Anyone who has worked in event management can tell you that when/if tickets "magically appear" they are generally the result of cancellations. Everyone buys their EDC ticket with big plans -- thinking they're going to be sipping champagne and eating caviar in a plush Vegas suite. Then they get fired from their job at McDonald's and those plans change. I've belonged to EDC groups 3 years in a row and I've never experienced an EDC where everyone actually made it to Vegas for the event.

Tickets will "magically appear" because Insomniac has also offered (via Facebook and Twitter) to refund/buy back tickets from the hundreds (thousands?) of people who's plans have fallen through. I think this is a good business move by Insomniac, that is also good for the fans. Much better to have these tickets redistributed by Insomniac than end up in the hands of butt-raping scalpers.

I don't know dude, honestly there's plenty to hate about every major festival promoter out there -- I definitely have had my beefs with Insomniac too. But there are two things that keep me coming back to their events time after time: 1. They know how to put on a damn good show, their organization, management, effects, etc. -- all top-notch. & 2. Pasquale is a great CEO and a solid businessman. You really can't go wrong when the pack leader has his shit together. Anyone that tries to deny that is just gonna make themselves look like a fool. Oh wait, you already did.

@gwenvegas yaaaaa Burning Man style! I think that's a great move by Insomniac to avoid scalpers and get the people to the festival who really want to be there. Coachella should do this too!!!

Woahhhh there cat nip...someone's being a sour pussycat.

Kaskade announced via Twitter that his name on the line-up was a mistake AFTER the article was written.

Furthemore, any one who even attempts to call this line-up crap or other such negative word has straight LOST his/her mind.

TRUST ME, I am no big fan of Insomniac in general and try to avoid their events as much as possible after last year's EDC fiasco.  BUT the line-up this year includes artists from ALL EDM sub-genres and has something for EVERYONE. If you're looking for 140, it's there.  If you're trying to get lost in deep house, it's there.  If you're a bro looking for that mainstream, it's there.  If you want to shuffle the night away to hardstyle, it's there as well.

My 3 absolute favorite artists are not even on the line-up, and still I would never DARE say that this line-up is anything but innovative, comprehensive, and all around simply awesome.

Go back to your corner to cry kitty.  Meow.

@cat_nip Paranoid much? If you're suggesting multiple performers listed are a sham and Insomniac is trying to pull off some kind of lineup conspiracy... I think you need a reality check.

Also, the fact remains that Pasquale pulls off the most organized, enjoyable large-scale dance event in this country. If you don't agree, don't attend.

I'm not sure who you think "saved" the blow out last year but it is widely credited to Markus...and he's on the lineup. Stop bitching and enjoy the music, or don't. Your choice.

@cat_nip Aoki didn't save shit last year, man. That was all Markus. Aoki only came on once Markus had every dancing. More than half of the people who were there for Markus left when Aoki came on. I was one of them.

@cat_nip If you read my post on fb I mentioned @Kaskade not being at the fest... unfortunately he posted that on twitter after I sent this to my editor. As far as the line-up being crap I'm pretty sure I never said it was great nor bad. In fact I mentioned being more excited about the art instillations than the actual artists. So how about you get off my jock for fuck sakes and stop drinking that hatarade ;)
