3. Shiny Toy Guns DJ Set & Drop The Lime
Detroit Bar
Thursday January 17th

Every now and then Detroit Bar books an outstanding EDM act and this Thursday is one to mark on your calendars. Catering to the more hipster crowd the Shiny Toy Gun's Jeremy Dawson will be doing a DJ set alongside Carah Faye with live vocals. They are best known for their hit song "Le Disko" which blended electronic elements with the alternative band. Their latest album III received rave reviews as miss Faye is remains the kick ass face of the band. A DJ set with her sexy live vocals should be a treat. Not to mention an opening set from Drop The Lime (that is enough to make us want to go). The Brooklyn native Luca Venezia is bringing his drum & bass influences to the world of electronica with his latest release on Ultra Records Enter The Night. This evening is sure to bring you back to the days when rock bands played wicked electronic synths with a modern twist.

Ten Nightclub
Sunday January 20th

The french 18-year-old born Hugo Pierre Leclercq has become somewhat of an overnight sensation since his YouTube video "Pop Culture" went viral in the summer of 2011. Better known by his stage name, Madeon things are happening fast for the young songwriter, producer, musician and DJ. He is currently on tour with Lady Gaga on the "Born This Way Ball." A dream of his after he tweeted her how much he loves her music. Having played every major festival in the United States he is now bringing his take on electro house and french house to the masses. On Sunday he is making his way to Ten Nightclub straight from his gig at the Staple's Center thanks to Insomniac Events and Identity Management Group. The young artist has Skrillex like notoriety in his future, so make sure you see him in this rare intimate setting before he starts headlining his own live tour (he already has one in Europe).

Needs more Mat Zo!  I will honestly say that I'm not the biggest fan of the venue he'll be performing at (Sutra), however, I feel that his talents should be noted and the legion of partiers, clubbers & music enthusiasts should hear his thoroughly unique and trans-genre sound.
