Desert Daze 2013 Announces New Lineup, Format and Venue
|A photo of the new location for Desert Daze, Ooooo.....|
Desert Daze 2.0 also marks it's evolution in an unconventional way--by condensing the extra-long festival vibe down to a one-day experience of live music, art, food and overnight camping. It's being held at Sunset Ranch, a desert oasis set against a backdrop of purple mountains and miles of palm trees, in the the town of Mecca (about 25 minutes southeast of Indio near the Salton Sea). For Pirrone, the desire to change the format and venue of the festival was something he's been thinking about since before the first run of Desert Daze even began.
"We wanted to do an event with overnight camping and also the 11-day thing is something we want to do again but we feel like its an every-five-years type of thing. We ant that kind of experience to remain special. The cool thing about Moon Block Party is that were always finding cool new ways of doing things and never repeating ourselves."
Tickets for the fest are now on sale. And unlike Coachella, they're not gonna murder your wallet. Earlybird tickets start at $20 for general admission and $35 for camping passes which include entry into the festival. The link to purchase tickets can be found here: http://desertdaze.brownp
