No Doubt Announces New Album Title, Release Date And Single Info
|Ready to roll|
For all of the hubbub surrounding Push and Shove, fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival since its alleged release in 2009. Granted, 11 years isn't that long in the post-Chinese Democracy era, but fans started to wonder with the success that Gwen Stefani has had on her own if the album would ever see the light of day. The latest rumor before yesterday's announcement was that the album would be completed in the summer of 2011. Fans may still be a bit skeptical, but with a timeline in place, it appears as if the band is ready to roll.
"A lot of stuff happened during that time period," Stefani explained to Rolling Stone last June. "Marriages, babies and, for me, two records and two clothing lines. So if you really worked out the math, you'd be like, 'Wow, you guys are going fast.'"
Though the album is not completely wrapped up, the band has no doubt (rim shot!) that it will be ready far in advance of its scheduled release date. The writing and recording for the record began in late 2009 after the group hit the road earlier that same year.
Over 25 years after their first "official" gig at Fender's Ballroom in Long Beach, it's crazy to think that No Doubt has been one of the pioneering bands in pop-punk and one of the biggest bands to ever come from Orange County. Hopefully the long gap in between albums will be a good thing for the quartet.
