The Jackson Are Touring This Summer. Are You Kidding Me?

When is a reunion not really a reunion? When the principal member of a band doesn't participate (or, in this case, is dead), then it can't really be called a reunion without insulting your fans, right? Common sense would normally dictate yes, but in the case of the Jacksons, that apparently doesn't hold true.

On Friday, the Jacksons or as I'd like to call them, the Jackson 4, announced that they'd be embarking on a reunion tour, though nothing they do should be surprising anymore. After last year's tribute concert to Michael in Cardiff, Wales, you would think that the brothers Jackson would have given up trying bilk every last dollar off their famous last name. Let's face it, sans Michael, these guys are washed up has-beens. Without the King of Pop, these shows are going to be half-assed money grabs.

I can't believe that the brothers would stoop this low in order to make a buck. It's really sad and pathetic that these guys have the audacity to continue on. Do they really think that anyone other than nostalgic and obsessive fans would come to see them? Even then, they should be playing small theaters instead of larger outdoor venues. If the Rolling Stones toured without Mick Jagger, would they be playing stadiums? I don't think so. It would be like Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr touring as The Beatles and billing it as a reunion tour when it definitely isn't the case.

The tour is titled "The Unity 2012 Tour." If that were really the case, why not have sisters Janet and LaToya get in on the fun? Oh wait, they have their own shit going on and don't need to live in the past. None of these guys has produced anything relevant without their famous brother so rehashing their greatest hits without their greatest asset (Michael) is surely going to be a letdown. It's appalling that these guys have the gall to even pretend this is a unity tour without including everyone. If the sisters were involved, then these gigs would at least have some intrigue surrounding them rather than a collective eye roll.

Of course, there will be fools willing to plunk down anywhere between $42-$125 (face value) to see these guys. Hopefully you won't succumb to this trap, especially when there are at least 30 concert tours that are better than this. In fact, if you're willing to waste money on these guys, then go down to your local bar or venue and support some homegrown talent or gasp, perhaps even buy some independent music. Your money would be served doing that than wasting it on this farce.

FANTASTIC story!! Finally somebody willing to tell the truth about these money grubbing, greedy, talent-less Jacksons! They couldn't make it one their own without Michael before so the only reasoning behind this is to try and capitalize on his death! LOVE THIS STORY!!

I think you have a good point it deffinitly won't be the same without him he was the reason they were as big as they were. I 2009 the reason michael said no to the tour is because he had his own residency going on so wouldn't really have had the time and the fact that he said after the 2001 reunion (he might of even said it before) that he didnt wont to tour with them again (like he even needed to). They needed him much more than he needed them. It deffinitly won't have the same appeal or interest it would of had if Michael was there that's why they've put it off so long cos now it will be more of a tribute than a reunion. What I want to know is who will sing mjs part, or will they have him on a big screen like they did with elvis?

Back to the 2009, when Michael was alive they tried to persuade him to join them to a reunion tour and Michael said NO! Wonder why? I don't...

Your article is very disrepectful to those fans wo are willing to see these shows. Of course you can disagree, but you should have presented better arguments to support your position as why should fans avoid going to see these concerts.

your article sucks....the Jacksons are not forcing you to go, so STFU.  There doing this becasue they can, theres no reason to write an article to berate or belittle their decision.

No proves that any moron can read and disagree with facts without providing any to back up their own opinion! Let's see some proof the blogger is wrong...have the Jacksons been successful w/o Michael ...NOOOO! Was Michael he main draw and talent in the group...YES! Did he sing lead on all their relevant hits...YES! Did anyone care about them before Michael died...NO! Why didn't they tour alone as 4 Jacksons before Michael's death...cuz no one gave a crap about them and they didn't need the money then! Give me some facts not speculation and  what you think to dispute any of this logically especially the part about the Jacksons successes after Michael left the group! Come on! Back up your statement that the blogger is a moron! Provide facts to dispute what the blogger said!!

It's just another scam to profit off their dead brother since none of them could make it on their own without Michael! The Bank of Michael Jackson closed the day he died now his greedy family is not only scrambling to survive but still trying to do using MJ!

WTF! What better argument can you give than the star and the only talent of the group is gone! You ask for better arguments? Not one of you people who defend the Jacksons can do anything but declare their talent yet fail to provide proof to back up their so called talent such as any success since Michael was in the group! Michael Jackson WAS the Jacksons end of story! Barry Gordy even said he signed them to Motown because of Michael! This article provides the only proof it needs which is the fact that Michael was the star and mainstay of this group and he is gone! Secondly this greedy bunch has done everything under the sun to capitalize on Michael's death since he passed including using his kids as a draw to sell tickets to the so called "tribute" to Michael in Wales. Any tribute to Michael Jackson would include giving proceeds to charity and the only charity the Jacksons plan to contribute to is their own bank accounts! So get your own facts straight!

You are a delusional fool! Everything in this article is true! IF this bunch was so great then explain why they had NO success or career after Michael left the group! IDIOT!!
