Must-Hear J Dilla Track No. 2: 'Reckless Driving'

​Had he not passed away on Feb. 10, 2006, beloved hip-hop producer J Dilla would have turned 38 years young yesterday.

In honor of J Dilla's birthday, his passing (Dilla suffered from thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, although is official cause of death is cardiac arrest) and his awesomeness, we are going to post one must-hear track every day until Friday.

The first J Dilla track that made me realize my younger brother wasn't fooling when he said Dilla was awesome was "Reckless Driving." It's off the Ruff Draft record and it's got this outer space vibe to it that I literally can not get enough of.

But you don't have to believe me. Just listen to the track and decide for yourself. Once you know I am right (and, therefore, you will know that Dilla rules), you can thank me by sending wads to cash directly to my house. If you don't want to do that, you could always send wads of cash to The J Dilla Foundation, a non-profit organization that, according to their website, helps fund, "inner-city music programs, and provide(s) scholarships to students attending schools that have progressive music curricula."
