Hobbit Feet, 'Sting,' Gimli's Battle-Axe, a Ringwraith Costume and Other Things You'll See at the 'Lord of the Rings' in Concert
The Fellowship of the Ring (movie 1) is touring the country in 2011 (followed by Two Towers in 2012 and Return of the King in 2013). But this time, the giant film projections come equipped with 3D sound (an entire 200-piece orchestra will perform the films' entire score live) and real life hairy hobbit feet (ew) -- which should, supposedly, be hairy enough to prevent you from passing out and drooling in your popcorn a second time.
Troika Brodsky, the proud owner of the largest private collection of LOTR film props in the world (second only to the official studio archive in New Zealand--yikes), has generously added her collection of film paraphernalia to the tour's docket--giving fans the golden opportunity to touch Gimli's sweaty jock strap in person. (No, really--there'll be iconic weapons, shields, helmets and costumes featured in the movie, including Frodo's sword "Sting", Gimli's battle-axe, a complete Ringwraith costume, and a pair of hairy Hobbit feet.)
Tickets for the "tour" (which hits the Honda Center on October 15) will set you back--the cheap seats run for $32.50 and go as high as $86.50.
