Perry Farrell and co. are back playing a small (ish) room to launch their latest set, The Great Escape Artist. Obviously they're playing their older hits (that's what people want to see anyway), but on Oct. 3 and 4, the band will play at John Anson Ford Theatre for sentimental reasons: it's where, in April of 1989, Jane's Addiction played a series of sold-out shows for their ground-breaking debut album Nothing's Shocking (originally released in August 1988).

This incarnation of Jane's Addiction--with frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass--remembers the original shows well.

"In '89 we created a unique atmosphere at John Anson Ford. Back then it became a community and a party. Stephen Perkins even played drums in the parking lot for everyone as they entered the venue," says Navarro.
