Today, we're giving away two pairs of tickets to see a great band: the LA-based rockers Autolux. Formed by Eugene Goreshter (lead vocals, bass), Greg Edwards (guitar/vocals) and Carla Azar (drums/vocals) in 2001, the group has been straddling brash, krautrock-inflected noise-pop and trippy shoegaze, with a healthy dose of volume and Silver Lake attitude.
On Aug. 3, 2010, the band released their second full-length album, Transit Transit. Incorporating some more electronic elements with pounding drums and shards of feedback, it raised their profile among fans of experimental rock even higher.
The show is March 5 at 9 p.m., and they will be playing with the Soft Moon.

Kraftwerk. They were pionners in sound and aesthetics. Before them electronic music was experimantal, they were the first band that made pop with synthesizers. Besides that, hey still release music and perform awesome shows. They are simply the best German band, not just my favorite.

I don't have a favorite German band. I know it would be Autolux if I won those tix, though! Oh, and I have a friend that can sing Nena's 99 Luftballoons song in German (even though she doesn't speak German) if that gets me any bonus points.

KMFDM is great music, pioneers in their field
Sodom. Most brutal band to come out of Germany.
The Whitest Boy Alive makes me feel like I'm lost in a forest, although that would be a bit scary, this band would help me find solace.

I like Ramstein because they inspired me to be manly and not like britney spears. I was in total danger of falling victim to crappy pop music and bright colors, but now I just listen to Ramstein, TOOL and Metallica. It has been a win for all.
