Atlanta's dirtiest boys, Black Lips, are returning to Orange County for another piss-soaked, weiner-flashing fest of psychedelic Nuggets rock when they play Detroit Bar on June 23 (with the awesomely named Cerebal Ballzy). Okay, so they somewhat cleaned up their act for the streamlined garage pop of 2009's 200 Million Thousand, and Black Lips' upcoming sixth album, coming out in spring, was produced by Mark Ronson of Amy Winehouse fame.
But, when you think about it, Ronson is used to corralling a certain very talented, very inebriated artist into making powerful '60s soul updates, so his pairing with Black Lips, who say he's been like a fifth member to the band, makes sense. Just check out this video of the boys beating their meat (literally) with Ronson. How could we not be curious as to where this is going?
